After Duality gathers some fame, you could think of submitting it to Steam, Adam. It would be pretty awesome if a tool like this was included on Steam.

Whoops! Sorry - I somehow marked your message as read without actually seeing it. It's a little late, but: I'm not sure if Steam is the right platform for this, as Duality is really targeted more towards developers and also requires third-party software (Visual Studio) to be useful.

Duality Games on Steam? Certainly! Duality itself? Hm, not sure.

Ah, by the way, Onikira is released ^^ (To those who might be new: It's a game made with Duality)

Went searching for a trackback from Facebook with a sudden influx of website visitors, but found this report instead:

If Adam were eaten by a Velociraptor, [...]

Uhm.. :D

Anyway!

The overall report seems to address some of the issues of the project with regard to creating a true Open Source environment, mostly being that I'm the "ruler of a monarchial structure" and the only active developer. Well. :troubled:

Duality could really use some core contributors, and I must admit that I'm probably not the easiest gatekeeper for pull requests. The standards that I impose on requests are very specific, and I've rejected some pull requests that others might have accepted.

It's just.. I really, really want the code quality to keep up, and there's so much stuff that is easily changed for a small feature but could have major implications in the long run.

Am I overprotective? :eh:

If you could pick one thing that I should improve to make contributions easier, what would it be?

Being overprotective is different from having a standard. And standards are good, so anyone coming from outside has a base to start from, instead of having to adapt to different coding styles.

It seems Duality has been covered in the next entry in the Closer Look series from GameFromScratch.com.

Here's a link to the article:
http://www.gamefromscratch.com/post/2015/11/03/A-Closer-Look-at-the-Duality-Engine.aspx

It's even got a screenshot of one of my samples in the Package Manager! Yay!

This might be connected to the recent cross-platform question?

Awesome! :D Thanks for the link :) I actually messaged the author of the series a while ago and asked him about whether he'd like to do one episode on Duality, super neat he actually did :)

Edit: Embedding the video version of it:
