I am importjingles, I live in the UK and I like game audio stuff - and most other aspects of game development except networking.

I'm looking forward to playing about with Duality more, but for now, I've been developing an audio importer plugin so that we can load more audio file formats in the engine. My first post here was going to be about the plugin, but the forum stopped me from posting pictures (because spam), so I'm saying hi to everyone here instead!

I'll be posting more info about the plugin over in Sound and Music... And I was just about to post a link to the project page in this post, but apparently links aren't allowed either.

Welcome!
Nice first post! What formats are you aiming for?

It currently supports these:

.aiff (including files with extensions: .aif, .aifc)
.mp2
.mp3
.flac
.wav

And has the capacity to support more (it's built on libsox), I just haven't got around to testing it with real files for any other formats.

Now that I'm allowed to post links, you can get to the project page here: https://github.com/importjingles/DualityExtendedAudioImporter

Thanks for the welcome :)

That's a actually really nice way of dealing with the spam protection. Welcome! ^^

Can relate. Network multiplayer is the one thing I've always avoided in gamedev. I don't even know why exactly.
