I am trying to learn the Duality library, but I find that I learn best when I can look at examples of code rather than reading the documentation alone.

Does anyone have any source code for a game that they are willing to share? I'm thinking at least a medium sized project so I can find a good amount of code to look through :)

Right now I'm getting stuck every minute trying to understand Duality through the documentation by itself (although I am very grateful to have it). :P

Thanks!

What kind of code are you looking for? I made a small game for a game jam which has source code available here: http://hsnabn.itch.io/load-it-please

If you're looking for something else, well, maybe I could take a shot at making it. I do have some other projects, but they're quite... broken, or incomplete. Not to mention sorta private.

Why don't you tell us what you have trouble with? We'll try explaining it to you to the best of our abilities.

Thete's also the Dual Stick Space Shooter sample, which is pretty much an Asteroids clone made in Duality.

Ah, yes, I forgot about that. That one contains a good bit of code that might be useful for you. Check out the rest of the sample projects in the official Duality repository, too. There's also a Flappy Bird clone in there (made by SirePi).

Here's a link to the Git repository hosted on GitHub: https://github.com/AdamsLair/duality

Thanks for the code you guys provided! Anything and everything is great. I think looking over your code will give me a good idea on how many of the basic principles are handled in Duality.

I'm afraid I only have experience making games in a graphical GUI type environment, so I have a lot of confusion on how a lot of the classes and methods work that involve the visuals of the game. So pretty much everything that isn't categorized as general OOP is a learning process for me :D

I'm afraid if I were to post all of my questions, I would flood the forum with just my posts. Is it better to ask a question anyway, even if that question may be solved within a reasonable amount of time by digging through the documentation? Or should I only ask when I've spent time and can't foresee myself solving my own problem?

Thanks

Ask away, don't be scared! worst it can happen, we leave a solved question for someone else to find :)

Go ahead and ask the questions. The sooner you get it over with, the better! And what SirePi said: it could help a future user with the same question, too, even if it doesn't eventually get answered.
