So rating period has begun! If everyone rates all of the games, it's 20 ratings overall - if I did the math correctly. Let's go for that people ;)

So I just fixed a bug, where the game doesn't spawn a shotgun ;)

Since I can't vote (too late), here are my reviews !

Overall, every game is fun, I'll just give some remarks/suggestions.

The Floor Is Lava :
  • Stressful because of the music, not in a bad way
  • Lava shouldn't go over the water (that's just my opinion)
  • I managed to escape after several tries ! Yay for me !

Run Barb, Run !
  • This game destroyed my fingers, especially with the theme "Don't stop moving". Keeping on moving while pressing a button would have been nice
  • Not that challenging : I won by changing level once. That's a shame because this mecanic is quite original, but not that useful. I think a smaller level, or faster enemy or even several enemies would have been great.

Acid Farming Simulator :
  • Graphics are super pretty ! Especially the acid effect. I'm totally stealing that, when I understood how it works
  • Music goes very well with the mood
  • It's challenging, almost frustrating. Took me many tries before winning

Underground Madness :
  • Not challenging enough : I just needed to spin around the enemies, without dogding (but it was funny to see the enemies spinning)
  • The IA is too accurate : a lower accuracy would have made the bullet harder to predict and to dodge
  • Weapons didn't feel great : I felt that the machine gun was more effective than a laser pistol, which didn't felt rewarding (time too long between two shots, not enough damage ?)
  • But the movement felt great
  • Start menu is hard to use

Piggy :
  • Wow, this game is super hard !

My review is finshed. Congratulation everyone, you made A GAME ! :D
By the way, check my game out ! Reviews and feedback would be nice ^^

Hi, thanks for the reviews!
I tried playing your game, but since the cursor is invisible (it's invisible for every Duality game on my PC), it was not really playable. :troubled: Is there a workaround for that?

How's that? I liked that menu, especially with the hover animations. ^^

Thanks! Funny, that until that point, I did not realize, that you mean corrosive acid by the word acid. In my read, it's LSD, and the game is being the trip. :D I can show the shaders used, if interested. ^^

Yeah, it's hard to estimate how hard a platformer game is. I showed it to two people before submitting. One of them needed more then 30 minutes, the other around 2.

Next time it'll be a full-fledged mmorpg, and everyone will waste their life on that B)

So now that the vote has ended, I guess our jam is over ^^ Thanks to everyone who took part, reviewed and rated, it was a lot of fun and a great opportunity to do some battle testing for the new tilemaps plugin. We've tracked down and fixed quite some issues since then :)

Congrats to loeller for rank #1 and Cross for rank #2. Both of them well deserved :)

Might be a bad combination of the default application name and game settings in the user directory on Windows, where "system cursor visible" might be set to false. I've changed the default setting to store these settings in the local game directory, but until this kicks in widespread, you can delete the Duality settings folder in your user directory. Check C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents for Duality folders.

I originally intended to replace the cursor, but didn't due to lack of time. I should fix that later. I wanted to improve my game a bit before calling it "done".

That must be because of my PC. The game shows me a misplaced cursor

I meant "acid" as "being high", but I guess that makes sense too :)

Oh jeah, I forgot to fix this.
I want to replace the default windows cursor with a custom one.
So I think I didn't calculate the spaceposition correctly.

Maybe I will fix this someday :)

Oh, I didn't notice this. :D
Apparently the method Adam described fixed the missing cursor issues.

Humorous idea, but the goal was not very obvious. AAnd, again, these kind of weird hack'n slash games need more gore to be satisfying imo.

Thanks everyone, it was a great jam! ^^
