I promise I'm using a static property just temporarily! (before someone tells me I shouldnt do that :] )

Can someone tell me why? Just curious.

Where are you declaring these static properties? Are you declaring on the class scope (like, right after the class declaration), or inside a method?

Static properties are part of your plugin and will be discarded when your plugin is reloaded. This is expected behavior. :)

(I might be using wrong terminology here, but you get the idea)
