Post subject:  Adding Images to the Wiki / Push Access

Hey everyone,

since the Wiki does not provide a way to upload images, the only way to get them in there is by cloning the Wiki repository (see the clone URL below the side bar on a Wiki page), adding an image to the appropriate img subfolder, linking it in the article and then pushing it back up.

While contributors of course do have push access to the Wiki repository, I wondered whether this is true for non-contributors (e.g. regular users) as well? Can anyone of you check?

Maybe just add a trailing space to the end of some article, commit and see if you can push your change back up. If that works, it should be viable for other users to add their images to articles as well. If not, we'll have to figure out a different way to not make this a pain for people writing Wiki articles.

Hello,

I just tested, but permission was denied for me.

When editing the wiki (in Github), it seems that maybe other users can upload their images on another service and hotlink them. It may not be the best way, but it's still a possible workaround.

Thanks for testing. That's what I suspected.

Yep. I'd prefer to keep all the content in one place, but doesn't seem GitHub offers another way so far.
