I just added a new player character. A little more distinct from the backgrounds. I was feeling like the player and other characters were drowned in the pale non-outlined backgrounds so I decided to try something different.

You can also see that color filters completely change the atmosphere of the game. And the trees are moving here too :)

Not sure that you'll use this character to play. It might be an ally at some point though.

The character outlines are looking quite good and help to distinguish it from the background. Will you be adding outlines to all player-relevant outlines?

I really like the atmosphere of that level. A little bit like a "ghost town" :D

Thanks! I plan to do so. At least for everything you can interact with.

Recently added some more animations and characters with the new style. I think it looks pretty good. Next up is actually hitting enemies and have them die.

Very nice. Even though there's no gameplay, the graphics sell it quite well. It looks.. polished? Like some Steam game that just happens to be not finished yet, actually.

Nice music btw :D

Thank you :P

I just realized that there was music in the video, it isn't mine! I really didn't know that. Fraps recorded when I was listening to spotify. Might have to remove that video from youtube then :)

Huh. A curious fit of random music then.

I don't really have a lot of time to make games, but I still tend to get some work done every week :P

This time, some more actual gameplay, fighting & very basic combos. And some blood too :P

Those enemies need two things:

  1. A collision shape, so you can't walk right through them.
  2. Pushback when hit with the sword, so you "feel" the force behind it

Right now, it looks good, but it doesn't yet look like it feels good to hit them. Make the player feel that weight of a sword blow!

The cat is awesome. :D
