I stumbled across the following constructor of the BatchInfo class:
Code:
public BatchInfo(
   ContentRef<DrawTechnique> technique,
   ColorRgba mainColor,
   IEnumerable<KeyValuePair<string, ContentRef<Texture>>> textures = null,
   IEnumerable<KeyValuePair<string, float[]>> uniforms = null
)
The speciality seems to be that multiple textures via a string/ContentRef<Texture> key value pair may be specified as third parameter. I am curious, whats is this for?

I might be wrong, but I always assumed it's for shaders that use multiple textures..
